yeh i know that trigger cover is there, my trigger just takes an awful lot of finger pressure to activate, like it only turns on once the trigger is 90-95% pulled in...

Sorry I misunderstood your question. I guess I had not noticed my finger pressure applied to the trigger. I was just awe struck by the magnitude of light!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Dukester,

So how does it compare to the Q-beam? Is it about the same brightness with one beam on or are there some differences? I've got a couple of spots, but can't decide on the next one I "need".

Thanks,

Cheese

You could not go wrong with the Vector. The construction in itself is far superior than the Brinkman Q-Beam. I cannot believe that I paid $49 @ WallyWorld for the Brinkman a year and half ago.

Without doing a side by side comparing both the Spotlights. My Brinkman would have to be charged up again to top it off (takes a full 24 hours to accomplish that) to make a comparison test fair. I would have to say that the Vector is a hands down winner with a much cleaner and noticeably whiter beam, yep even with one bulb burning. The Brinkman has at best a 55w bulb while the Vector sports two 100watters.

The Vector last night virtually turned my driveway (I live in the country) from night to day, simply amazing.

Cheese - You cannot go wrong with this lamp. It also has a built in Area Light that will run for 15 hours. The heck with spending over $200 on the new SF L6. During a power outage at the old house just light up the Vector to see you through the storm. The area light mimics the brightness of say a 15w lightbulb or equal to a bright nighlight, certainly enough to light up a room.

Did I mention the DC Power Jack?

OK, SOLD. I actually meant to get one today, but got sidetracked with the kids. But, my main concern is the weight, I just wish they would make it a lantern style carry. It just seems much easier to lift 6-7 lbs by a handle than to balance it on your wrist. Eh, I have no choice, but to get one. Having a 12 volt DC jack is a nice plus too, faster cell phone charging!

Thanks for the updates.

It comes with a shoulder strap. Check back with us and let us know what you think?

It runs about 20 minutes with both lamps on, and 40 with 1. The little area light runs around 15 hours supposedly.

But can you actually run it for that long... or will it melt down (any duty cycle on this 3MCP monster)?

Broke down and got one today. Nice light, not as much throw as I would have hoped for (since each of the parabolic lenses are still fairly small). Has perhaps 20% more throw into the sky than a bigger lens'd Dorcy 55w. But, in return, there is good useful spill, so overall the light is a definite keeper. Plus, the small incandescent is much better than a CCFL, especially in cheeseland this time of year. Colors are much more defined with it, versus all the CCFL I have (Vector, Coleman, Eveready). The weight isn't even that bad.

Congrat's, I hope you aren't let down? It does not have the throw as I would have liked either after playing with it for a couple nights. What it's asset to me is that it light's up everything out to about 300 yds, really nice bright white flood.

Not let down at all! It's not a big fat flood like the "2 million" Coleman, the 3MCP vector is a lot of fun, great spill and still a nice spot. The little area light is also very useful. Having a 12 volt port is nice. Plus, for 34.99 at Farm and Fleet I'm tempted to get another one, er,... for gifts, er,... and things.

The real problem is that it's made start looking at the 240 Blitz and a 250W bulb.

Seriously? You guys who just bought one don't think its throw is that impressive?

Wow...what lights do you have that have more throw and were this cheap? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Are there better/brighter or bluer bulb options?

It's not that the 3MCP isn't that bright, but you just have a whole different set of expectations when you are carrying a tiny 6 ounce flashlight, versus carrying something about the size of a gallon jug of milk and weighing as much as a small sledgehammer.

ChrisM - I am more than satified with my purchase. It throws one helluva flood out there, boy oh boy does it ever. There are trade offs, throw for flood. The 3mcp is a keeper that is for sure!

If you really took a look at Ken`s superlight pic`s you would see that, for more throw from any handheld light you have to go HID $$$$!
The LSI 3800 (which cost more than any vector) was conciderd the top handheld spotlight for throw. In the pic`s at 400yds the 3m almost matches it on one bulb. On two bulbs, it noticably put more light on the area and is whiter.
At 400yds (almost a 1/4 of a mile) you can`t tell if a person is a male or female with the naked eye in broad daylight.

Eric

Ken's site actually kind of sold it to me. The LSI 3800 was initially my first choice, but from Ken's site, seems like the vector is just a touch better overall. Plus, lower price, area light and 12 volt port. It can't be beat until you go over $100 (i.e. to the light force)

Cool.
I also love mine. I also like my VEC112S. HOWEVER, on my VEC112S, unless it's freshly charged and only been used less than 5 min, my eyes tell me my KT2 & N2 on a 3-cell SureFire body throws just as far and is just as bright as the VEC112S even on high! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

How about a better battery pack? Something that would run 1 1/2 hours or so. Such a thing possible?
