Beamshot: 3 LED

Beamshot: red LEDs

(snide) COMMENTS
  • Disappontingly low output for something so large (this housing was originally designed for a rechargable incadescent light that had a US 110V plug where the red LEDs are located)
  • Optics in front of white LEDs do a good job of concentrating light into a tight beam
  • red LEDs are utterly useless (red beamshot is of the light directly against the target wall); LEDs are red-dyed indicator LEDs, not water-clear ultra-bright red LEDs
  • Zero environmental resistance
  • Housing is relatively stout
  • Suggested use: office Christmas party "secret santa" gift

I just went to take the garbage out, and found a box addressed from Vector delivered by Federal Express ground on the porch - containing one of these flashlights. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
If I start my evaluation soon, I ought to have a web page ready later today. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I just examined the red LEDs in mine with another flashlight (only a true flashaholic would examine a flashlight with another flashlight /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif), and can see that although the red LEDs are tinted, they're transparent.

My web page is approximately half complete. I'm still shooting for today to get that web page published. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

There. Page is up.
Find the URL in my reviews thread; I do not want to hijack this one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

This must have changed since the time yours was made and the time mine was made.
The sequence on mine is:

Three white LEDs
Five white LEDs
Red LEDs steady
Red LEDs blink
Off

I think a similar light to this is being sold at Lowes under the Husky brand.

Target now has that light on clearance for $2.48 - went down today to the new lower price.
at least the one i work at. prices can vary from store to store, at least for a few days.

Be careful with the clip on the battery compartment cover. I have already broke the clip on the one that I got on sale at Target.
