I received a great new watch from my wife for my 5th anniversary. A Victorinox Night Vision II. I really love this watch. It has a blue backlight to see the time. Its also got a nice bright white LED light. You would never know it has the light on it if you didn't know it. I love that, it keeps the lines nice and clean. One press of the button lights the back light, two presses lights the white led. It's got two signal modes too. There is a tiny blinking red LED that lights every 10 seconds. Two separate batteries power the light and the time. When the battery gets low the red led blinks faster.

Very nice I must say!

I noticed your clip on that SwissTool Spirit+. Curious as to know if it's a custom or an option? Would like to know since I have that same multi.

Nice timepiece.

Are those screwdriver bits from the miniature screwdriver set sold at Home Depot? Where's the handle? What is the object below the screwdriver bits?

Thanks.

You have a great wife. Congrats on the five-year mark as well

Love the texture on those red knives, what model are they?

Thanks for the replies! I really love my new watch. And yes, my wife is a keeper also! :O)

I welded a clip form a camilass heat knife onto the Swiss Spirit. IMO it is the perfect tool now.

The screwdriver kit is indeed the two (Torx and Philips, slot) kits from Home Depot. I cut the end off the driver and just carry that. It all fits in a nice folding scissors case I got from AG Russel. I'm going to wire EDM a hex in the handle so I can slide one of the bits through to make a T-handle for more torque.

The Red Swiss Army Knives are the Pioneer and the Seaman. I have a Red Alox Pruner coming from FEVAP also!

Ahhh, now I see! Indeed it is as you so put it. Thanks for the input and Enjoy!

Uncle Bill's Sliver Gripper tweezers? Cool. I thought I was the only one with a pair of those. Did you get them from Lee Valley?

Funny - While I was at the EDC site yesterday I was reading a thread on watches with lights. It had four of them listed. Timex has a simular one for around 75$. Can't really find a "perfect watch" yet.

For me it would have analog, compass, light, and small enough not to look like Big Ben on my medium size wrist. Also I like self winding but then would not be able to have nice gadgets like a light and alarm.

As I get older I am having a harder time reading watch faces and analogs work well for that, although now I can't read the date window on my Pulsar. :ironic:

I really like those silver grippers. I got mine from AG Russel.

I am collecting Red Alox now. I have a Seaman, Pioneer, and a Pruner so far!

Kodiak, do you know where your wife purchased the watch? I'm interested in the metal/metal band version of the Night Vision II and wondered if it might be available at a national store chain of some sorts. I know they are very against Internet sales of their watches.

Thanks Kodiak. There is a Lord and Taylor within driving distance of work so I'll check it out sometime.

I have the older version of this watch and like it a lot. A couple of things may or may not apply here and are just some additional information. The "blue" light to see the dial, on mine is actually UV to supercharge the GID paint on the face. Also the flashlight portion is made by Emissive Energy the Inova people. I don't have this newer version but it wouldn't surprise me that the features are similar.
