Well, Steve, you've done it again, a wonderful job on Ti AA Volere. I guess this is your first complete product under your name, and it is really cool.

I just got it this morning and it was well packed in a gift box.
Slimmer and slightly taller than D-10.
Slightly brighter than D-10 in my eye, and the hot spot and the spill is also bigger.
Laser marked logo looks really good. Much better than you see in the pic's.
XP-G LED is well centred.
Well spaced 3 speed brightess control. I wonder if there is any hidden mode or hidden programmability that I still haven't encountered.
I cannot say I like it better over Ti D-10 yet, but I'll play with it for days and let you guys know. And I already feel that this can be an excellent EDC light. :)

Many wants 123 or 18650 in the same style, and my feeling is that it would be a better choice with 18650, having played around this Volere.

I'm sure many will do follow up reports on this light, and I was just the lucky one to received it first. :nana:

cheers,

deja vu... you always seem to receive it faster than the rest of us....
So I'll ask this again. Where'd you stay, Taiwan?!

No, sir.
I would say my postal system is really working fluently and efficiently. :D

I'll give it a try when I get home from work. :)

Slightly brighter than a D10?

Which cells did you use? As we now know, there isn't a huge difference for the new D10 anymore whether you use an AA at 1,5V or a 14500. What about the Volere?

Which serial did you get? :poke:

Yes, just a little bit, to my eyes.
I used 1.2V AA eneloop on both lights.
I've got #01x :D

If it was on Eneloops, it is quite normal that it's just a little bit... ;)

I'm curious what the brightness will be on a 14500!

Nice serial! :twothumbs

The Volere seems a nice light, a few more pics will be appreciated.

Hi, Kilovolt.

I uploaded some more pic's up in the 1st post for comparison.
Hope it helps.

cheers,

can't have pics of the volere without more glowy trit pics!

I'm currently unhappy with my other pics.. so more to come, later.

Would just like to second octaf's conclusions. Extremely cool light, excellent workmanship! And the pictures, superb as they are, just don't do the light justice. It's hard to describe, but it just looks...sharp, I guess is the best word I can come up with. I don't have a D10 to compare it with :mecry:but I do have an LF2XT, and it's every bit as cool!

Congrats kuku427 on another fine light!

serious. i would definitely be in for one if there was a 123 version.

I also preffered 123 versions a long time, until I started with rechargeables. Because of the higher voltage, CR123A lights give more brightness and/or more runtime than AAs.

Now my preference is the AA format if I can run it on a 14500! That's best of both worlds for me, I get the brightness and/or the runtime and the larger and thinner design, which fits my hands better (while a 123 still fits my pocket better...). What's more, if no 14500 available, I can power the light with the cells of the TV remote control if I have to!

The most versatile lights come with an extender for AA, while being designed for 123. Obviously, the light gets thicker (and more expensive) and you wouldn't ruin the design of a Volere that way, would you?

My Volere is still on the way, tracking often doesn't work at all with parcels from Taiwan, so it could be at my door each day, perhaps today?

You can try at taiwan post and locate the flight. A google search on that flight will hopefully let you know where is your Volere at this moment... I did it with some parcels from Taiwan and it works.

My Volere's are on the way also but they didn't leave Taiwan yet

I use a better system : My wife! :naughty:

This morning she told me, that mine left Frankfurt and actually I see this information on track and trace as well. O already had parcels that went over Frankfurt which were at my door before they appear in the tracking system.

So, depending on what Steve has declared on the parcel, it could be in my hands on Thursday... :twothumbs

So you have privileged information :D

I've checked mine and they have landed in Bangkok in their way to Germany and then Madrid... One more week.
Luckily my first JHanko D10 is arriving home tomorrow (WOW!)

I think Steve has declared it as a gift (wich is)

Hey, compasillo

Show us your pic's of Jhanko D-10.
Everytime he makes new D-10, there's a little bit of changes in look.
So, I'm very curious what your version look like.
