volt bleeders?

I think I found a use for these spare halogens/sockets Ive had laying around.

are these bulb specs good for running a battery fresh off a charger to lower the voltage a little? Or maybe drain out a nimh?

You can use it to "lower the voltage a little," but you really don't want to "drain out a NiMH."

ahhh yeah I keep thinking of the old ni-cads...

Works fine; I use an old automobile foglight bulb (12V 35W) to take that "hot off the charger" voltage down on my 6 or 7AA packs and avoid instaflashing my bulbs. A minute seems to be enough. The bulb is well under-volted so it doesn't blind you, but it does get hot!
