That would be UV, IR is heat (temp) that you would feel on your skin while it is happening.

Two 12 volt deep cycle batteries power the tank light.
Actually the lights are not too hard to come by, it is the control boxes that are rarer then chicken lips. :D
Do you have a source for extra control boxes?

Hi Dad,

I have 4 of the suckers, but only 2 control boxes. :( I've yet to light one for my new local friends. I'm hoping I can light the high school's "H" on Mt Grant here in Hawthorne, NV. hehehe.

I remember when Larry brought his to the early Spring So. Cal get together a few years back somebody put their hand in front of it and got a "sunburn" on their fingers.
I am always EXTREMELY careful to be sure nobody is near the front of the unit when operating it.

There is an IR filter that slides into place for that, although the pink light is still visible at that high power level!

So as far away as you could see the target, I guess. The enlarged beam diameter at distance makes for a big target area tho.

An invisible pure wavelength IR targeting laser would be better, without the big visible pink light saying 'shoot at me!' 'shoot at me!' And with pinpoint accuracy, appropriate for the guided weapon accuracy.
