water bottle lanyard

hello, i just wanted to share with everyone these orange water bottle lanyards i found at walmart. the loop isn't large enough to fit around my hand but works well to fasten to a light such as the surefire or around thumbs or fingers. i like using the lanyards to quick clip my lights for packing or hanging. i find them quite useful for a buck a peice

Being more of a DIY sort of person, I prefer to make one myself. A useful knot for this purpose that I recently found is this one on Instructables...

It's a bit complicated at first, but after a bit of practice, I find it's a nice, secure knot that I'm confident my light won't slip out of.
Of course, your light does has to have some sort of 'thicker' point along it (e.g. a tailcap) or a notch somewhere so that the knot won't slip off.
