If it were available, I would purchase a waterproof screw-on cap for the ARC LS AA battery holder to convert it to double use as a mini-kit pocket capsule. Anyone know if such a thing is available?

Thanks!

Many search for the Grail you seek.

I also want this thing.
I know it would be upside down, but you can still attach a lanyard to the battery holder itself.

I make these. Do you want an aluminum version with an insulative foam-rubber cusion in it, or a Delrin (plastic) cap? I can provide either. It can have a lanyard hole in it too.

Hmmmm. How much for the delrin jobbies, Doug? I guess that one style could be made to work on all battery holders? (the batteries stick out different amounts on all the holders). That'd be pretty slick! And I might be able to save on shipping too...

Actually, they don't change much from holder to holder - they can't. The head they fit into is the same size for each...

I charge $3.00 each for the Delrin caps. I normally charge shipping of $3.00 too, but since I've already got something going your way, don't worry about it...

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">My older ones varied quite a bit more than current ones do. And by design the Arc head can easily accept height variances. That's why the skirt is so darn long on the Arc head. That skirt gives almost 1/2" of play to take up any slack in the differences in battery height. Though they do still vary somewhat, current LS's are more uniform, you're right (I just went and checked - and was quite surprised, actually)!

OK, I promise to stop harping on the battery height business... and to buy some of your caps! Look for an email in a moment.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Hey DSpeck.....how much for the aluminum versions?? (not sure if I'd prefer that or the Delrin).

I'm assumeing you're just talking about a waterproof cap that would screw onto an LS battery pack when the head isn't attatched to it. (so you could store the batteries or whatever in it).

Also....would the cap be able to fit any of the 3 battery packs with their battery/batteries in it. And lastly....why would someone need a lanyard hole in this cap....isn't there one on the bottom of each battery pack already....or am I corn-fused?

Choice bixtween losing the cap and the battery pack? With the lanyard we speak of?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Huh???....I'm still confused. So would this lanyard hole on the cap be for tying it to the lanyard hole on the battery pack so when you unscrewed it, they would stay together so you wouldn't lose the little cap???

I'm totally lost.

You run your lanyard cord through the top (cap) hole, and then through the bottom lanyard hole on the battery holder so the two items don't wander off.

Thanks.

You can get them from me. Just email me with your order, and we'll arrange payment. Here is a picture of my most current version, with lanyard hole.

The lanyard hole is because some people like to use their spare light bodies as emergency item holders, or just want to hang the spare body from it's middle, not side.

Aluminum versions are $12.00 US each, or I can make them in brass for the same price. Any version of the cap will be as waterproof as the Arc-LS head, and has enough room to take up any differences in battery extension out of the body. Metal caps have a spongy pad in them to take up slack and insulate the battery tip.

Do you have a picture of the Aluminum versions you could post? If not....don't worry about it.

Thanks

I ordered seven of the derlin ones, what are they made out of? Looks like skateboard wheels. I'm sure they work great and I appreciate being able to buy them.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Er.... Delrin?

It is a lovely material. Think of it is really hard plastic that's tougher than heck to break.

Well I'm good at breaking stuff. i'm breaking something right now
