Anyone have some suggestions for waterproof switches for mods?

Thanks,

-john

Magnetically activated reed switches.

Nothing goes through the waterproof barrier other than magnetic force.

Examples: Some dive lights, military, medical, and computer equipment, door and window burglar alarm switches, position switches, etc.

Hi Tomas,

Any pointers to specific products?

Thanks,

-john

Those few times I used any I got the switches themselves from whatever industrial supplier we had a contract with, or grabbed a reed type magnetic burglar alarm switch from Radio Shack, took it apart, and used the guts.

Radio Shack was usually cheaper ... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

radio shack doesn't carry them anymore /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Would you keep a magnet on it or build a bi stable flip flop circuit for toggle?

I feel your pain. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif Over the last year of so, I've felt the RadioShack should change their name to CellPhoneShack because they don't carry much in the way of electronic components anymore. I really hate having to pay $8 shipping on $4 worth of parts. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon8.gif
