I've got an Oregon Scientific All-Hazards portable unit. It's a little rough on battteries, so I only fire it up when I'm expecting bad weather, but I do take it with me when I'm hiking.

I too have an Oregon Scientific All-Hazards portable. But we rarely get truly bad weather here, so it is of limited use in that regard. :P

Yours is the bright yellow one also?

How many of you have weather radios? I would highly recommend them if you were in an area that gets a lot of bad weather.

I have the Reecom 1630. It is an incredible unit, though the manual is a little confusing.

Mine is a light sandy grey in color.
Let me take a picture of it...BRB...

It uses three C cells, but the AC adapter jack on it says the input is 7.5 volts DC.

The lid on the top back (where it reads "Oregon Scientific" and "All Hazards") flips up to reveal buttons for the clock and a tuning dial for the radio portion.

I have an Oregon Scientific wireless weather station. I am very happy with it. I don't use this function, but I can connect it to my rs232 serial PC. A very nice tools for those who are interested by the weather.

I've got an identical unit sitting just a few feet from this keyboard. It works well.

My portable unit is this one. My only complaints are that it chews batteries and it's way too easy to bump the large button on top when you're hiking, which takes the unit out of "auto alert" mode. Which is really stupid when you consider that it's meant to be carried around on hikes. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
