just wondering if anyone knows where to get webcoil tethers in australia - also if anyone knows how to make them - what is inside them ???

Well, I designed (invented) the dang things as well as a tool for insertion of the urethane coil that is inside the tubular webbing so I *do* know how to make them but I don't think I'll tell. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

In addition to berkeleypoint.com, I don't know what dealers Cetacea might be selling these tethers to. I had hoped for a better market penetration than I have seen. If any of the dive stores in australia in your area handle the Cetacea line, they could certainly order some tethers for you. Have you tried BP?

I looked at BP's web site when I saw this post and they dont ship outside the US.

ok - i can get hold of tubular webbing - i am just assuming it is one of those little keyring coily upper things (like a mobile phone car charger cable ???
i have tried using elastic to get them to retract but it doesnt seem to work

i have seen one (a bit large for my uses) at an outdoors shop near me - it was about 1.5 meters long retracted and had big clips on both ends - it was a "work at height" safety lanyard with an energy absorber in it - i suppose i will have to have a look at it again and try to work it out.

oh - and i only want to make one or two - for me to use - because i cant find them here in aus - and i dont have a credit card.
