What AAA Led Flaslight to get.

Actually LL P7 is 4xAAA light. But weight consideration is pretty interesting since I have never thought about it before as a factor while choosing a light. I weighted few lights with batteries for comparison:
-2D maglite around 700+ grams (was too much for my scale to measure)
-LL P7 195g
-Mini Maglite(2xAA) 110g
-Ultrafire C3 (1xAA) 60g
-Fenix L0D with keychain hook around 30g

I will not recommend 3xAAA size lights, get a one or two AA light instead.

Hey HKJ...what about the Sunlite Slim 100 lumen? I think you are pretty familiar with their product....and it makes for a decent penlight. What are your thoughts on a light like that which uses 3xAAA?

Is it only because of the weight of the 3xAAA's that you don't recommend them? Just curious....:shrug:

I have two points against 3xAAA lights:

1. They are direct drive
2. One AA has the energy of 2½ AAA, i.e. using AA makes the light both smaller and lighter.

But Sunlite has succeed in making some very nice lights and their light is small, compared to the light output, but also compared to other lights.
I.e. it is not Sunlite that gives 3xAAA a bad reputation.

Here is a 1xAAA, 2xAAA, 3xAAA and 1xAA light and here the Sunlite wins on the size/output ration (When the new NiteCore EZ arrives, this may change).

I've got two. LD01SS and ARC mania Extreme III. Run them both on 10440's. Surprising throw from the LD01SS....It's like a chrome Hummer.

The ARC mania has all the bells and whistles and is programmable, has toy factor.

Fenix slogan...Sunlight in your pocket... try Sunlight on your keychain.
