what LED's would be best for an array of 10 in a flashlight?

i have a choice of 18 or 30 degree 6000mcd (might have more choices, but would like some opinions).

i was going to get the 30 degree version. i dont need a tremendous amount of throw, but would like a nice balance.

thanks,
Bob

If they are both 6000 mcd, go for the 30 degree since it WILL have the same throw??!? Are you sure they're the same?

well, they are listed on superbrightleds.com.

i think they are the same. i have e-mailed them to see what brand they are. i hope they are high rank nichias--i have been pretty happy with these.

also, i tried the satin tape trick with my 5w cyan--worked pretty darn good!
that thing is BRIGHT!

oh and another thing: i used a LS white HD 1w from arc and mounted it in a generic 2aa flashlight (greatland or something?) with the stock clickie tailcap, lighiums...and a mc flood.

im-pressive! the mcflood is VERY nice, and arc sold me some incredibly bright/white luxeons. i should struggle with my camera and computer to try to post some beamshots. i can see why everyone loves arc: they choose some great led's.

i also have some very green ones from other sources, which im not fond of. i sure hope luxeon gets it together...
