I live near Apple Valley MN and I am looking for a headlamp. I know that some that I read about here are not likely to be available in stores near me. I am wondering what some of the the better, brighter headlamps are that are likely to be carried IN STOCK at places like:
-Lowes
-Target
-Wal-Mart
-Menards
-Home Depot
-Ace Hardware
-Mills Fleet Farm
-Gander Mountain
I am finding it difficult to determine what I need because there is such a wealth of information here and, as a result, I think that if I can try one locally I will be able to determine if, for example, 80 lumens is enough, or if I want/need more, etc. Also, I think being able to try it to see how it feels on my head might be important. For example, are all of the headbands created equally or are some better than others? I see some that are just a simple band, while others have a band over the top as well. Does that work better or would an end use not notice a difference? I know that these sound like very elementary questions, but I really have no experience with these.
