and why?

regular duracell alkaline AAA's for me.

with the arc, i just want the reliability. so i grab any spare AAA's that are around, and thats that.

e2 lithium for a flatter higher regulation

Energizer E2 -- brighter, lighter, longer constant runtime, better in colder temps.

Same here.

I just checked all three of mine. Energizer lithium cells in each one. I have one of the newest DS ARC AAA-P's on a titanium chain around my neck for non-work EDC use, and I like to keep it as light as possibly, an the lithium cell is where its at when every gram counts. I keep another one on my keychain and that also has a lithium cell in it, as does the one I keep in a mini bug-out-bag that goes in a cargo pants pocket whenever I wear cargo pants. I don't use the lights a lot, maybe a couple of hours a month at most, so typically a lithium AAA cell will last me for 4-8 months in each of my ARC's.

Most of the time, random alkaline. Right now because I was recently fooling around with measurements, I happen to have a lithium in one, a nimh in another one, and a near-dead alkaline in another. The old 3 lumen version with a lithium is about the same brightness as a more recent CS (6 lumen) version with a near-dead alkaline, in case you wondered.

One of the great things about this light is its ability to thrive on alkalines, so using anything else is sort of giving up some functionality.

E2 lithiums also. The cell I'm using has been in the light for over a year. It's still very bright, though I have to admit I use my cell phone backlight more as a "flashlight" these days. I still have three cells stashed and at the rate I'm going, it will last me the shelf life of the lithiums on the Arc.

Duracell procell alkaline here...

I wanted to put lithiums into mine but they're quite expensive. Has anyone found good prices on AAA/L92?

I've only had my arc 'fail' on me twice - both were when the light was somehow inadvertantly activated in my pocket and the battery ran down. I'm quite a bit more careful in making sure that the head is twisted far from the 'on' position now. I can't really afford to have this kind of accident with lithiums - at least not at the retail price here in Australia!

Another reason to carry 2 or more lights!

thomas-distributing.com has good L92 prices though i don't know if they'll ship to .au.
