Hello all....new to this forum....just attended an auction and bought an old light because i thought it looked interesting.... i know nothing about old lights...

appears to be cast aluminum....two brass tags on top as follows:
The Grether Fire Equipment Co. Dayton, Ohio Patents Pending

Portable Electric Latern
Style No. 6
Patented- July 30, 1918

It has a pull switch on top...i dont know if a battery is in it or not...
Want to find out a bit about it....Thanks....

I'd be surprised if rbaker hasn't already received his new light by now. Poor guy. Shoulda posted a link to the auction or something.
For those who are currious about lights they may find the flashlight museum has an invaluable database of pictures and descriptions of many old and antique lights.
