...and their PowerBank2/3 chargers, compared to other brands?

I had some leak on me when I used em for current draws of around 5 amps. GP 1600 mah. Others I have leaked in storage, probably after some high current abuse by me. Under normal usage, they should be fine.

I've been using 700mah AAA's in a Micro Illuminator with no problems, as well as 2000mah AA's in my digital camera also with no problems.

GP's work for me. So do Powerex, Energizer, Nexcell, GI, generic green, generic blue and generic white.

I've never measured the cell capacity, and there might be a difference I haven't noticed. Other than that, all the NiMH I have just keep on working. Maybe all NiMH are made in the same factory, for all I know.

I've never had a NiMH leak, and I only had one die. That one got discharged to the point of reverse polarity one too many times. I think it was a generic green, but I don't think that matters.

I don't know about the charger though. It's important to have a charger that pulse charges, to keep the crystal size small, and knows when to quit without overcharging or overheating the cells.

no comment on chargers, but the quartet of 1600maH batts I bought sveral years ago are chugging along ...

rest of mine are Everready 1750s, Maha 1800s and odds and ends from other manufacturors

NiMH are very useful for camera flashes due to their low resistance, allowing the flash to recharge faster... here's a great guide to NiMH, http://www.imaging-resource.com/ACCS/BATTS/BATTS.HTM

Personally, unless you absolutely need the high runtime, I can usually find Energizer or Duracell NiMH batteries for cheap, and they have decent performance as well. Everything else is expensive, unless mail ordered (or at least here in Canada...)

Energizer's seem to perform well, readily available as well. Dunno about the charger. I use a Maha 204F, a great charger and can condition/drain batteries as well. Only caveat is that you shouldn't close the cover when charging and they have been known to overheat.

Except for a very old set of 1300s, I don't really have much experience with the batteries themselves. Over here, I can get the 2100 Sanyos for a lot cheaper than the GP 2000s.

Chargerwise, I wasn't so comfortable with their chargers - there was always a catch, either only 2 charging channels for 4 cells or too high a charge rate. I ended up getting the Maha 401 charger, though it's pricy. Your milage/prefs might vary though.

I agree with Lucien.
I have been using Sanyo 2100mAH rechargebles for quite some time and they do prove to be much better than the GPs. I ended up selling the GPs away.
I will be getting the latest Sanyo 2300mAH and the Maha 401 charger from Singapore soon /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Anyone have experience with Lenmar? Picked some up a few weeks ago at Fry's. Seem to be working fine for me so far. Use Maha C401 charger on slow charge cycle.

Hi feefphillic,

Sorry, haven't checked the forums for a bit. I got mine from Eastgear - I'm sending you a PM.
