Hi Guys,

Can anyone recommend a relatively inexpensive LED drop-in that will fit the Brinkmann Legend LX?

Also, is there such a thing as a drop-in for the Surefire E2 Executive?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -Peter

I've heard many P60 style drop-ins work for the Maxfire LX. You'll have to remove the reflector though.

Thanks Gunner12 for your reply. The Legend LX is a little tricky. A while ago I removed the insides and dropped in a Surefire P61 bulb assembly, which is working fine. The Surefire P60 also fits perfectly.

So you would think that many P60 style drop-ins would fit. But my experience is that most do not, owing to a different form factor. The form factor of the typical P60 drop-in is fatter toward the contact end because it doesn't bevel off as fast as the Surefire P60 or P61. Because of that, the LED drop-ins I've tried do not clear the Legend LX head, and you can't fasten the bezel.

So I'm looking for a drop-in that more closely matches the form factor of the original Surefire P60 assembly.

Has anyone been successful with a particular drop-in in a Brinkmann Legend LX body?

Thanks! -Peter

Yeah... the DX drop ins are fat and bulky compared to the SF branded modules.

This TOP stryker might fit, but note I have no first hand experience with it or your brinkman.

FWIW, The T.O.P. lights also do not fit the DX-shaped modules. I came really close to getting one, until I found out they do not accept DX (or similarly shaped) modules. I had one in my hands at the Frys check-out line and something made me put it back and research further... got lucky I guess.

I have a Bug Out Gear drop in that I just put into my Maxfire to see if it fit and it does. The module is a little bit tall so the bezel has a bit of a gap but it feels solid and works fine. You could put an o-ring in there, or if the drop in was going to have a permanent home in the brinkman, you could just snip the spring a little to make it shorter.
