I've been away for a year /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif, so I need some update on what's new and what's hot /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

First of all, what happened with Surefire's The Beast? Last time I was here everyone talked about it. I remember that Light Canon was the king of HIDs then, and there's a new flashlight (x999?) that looked very promising.

A custom made, "perfect" McLux (designed from scratch from the bare metal up) 1, 123a LS light, created from a "motley crew" of CPF members that span several contintents! The Skunk works!

Electroluemens went full time making lights

Puke Green Luxon Stars, or what has become known as "THE LUXEON LOTTERY".

Brightnorm fried a Streamlight 4AA, 7 LED light by putting in 4 AA Lithiums and let it run until the batteries ran out.

MAg and someone else is allegedgly sueing Arc for similarities in the Arc AAA design then their solitare.

Some people, like Lambda and Mr. Bulk, were able to "MYSTEROUSLY" produce these totally awesome, perfectly white, too good to be true, LS. (Some say there was Mafia/Tri-lateral commission/CIA / Interpoll involvement!)

People alledgely started refering to mag-light as fag-light, and gag-light and m@g-lite etc.

dat2zip is selling "to all that want them" great little LED dc to dc converter and voltage regulated sandwich modules. The technology is just awesome! (People went crazy!)

Mr. Bulk's totally awesom direct drive LGI

Streamlight is introducing hybred incandecent / LED lights, and coming out with SureFire Killers

Ken Goode is starting a line of flashlights at stragigos

ARC is introducing an LS4

Lambda and ArcMania is "fixin't" sell a 1 watt LS that fits on a Brinkmann single AAA LX!

Quiglight invented a cool new led light that fits into the pocktet.

Tigerlight invented a combo light/pepper spray light.

Sasha upgraded the CPF software!

Craig (the LED mueseum) was seriously ill and in the hospital for months, but is back with his wonderful Cyan hair!

Peter G got married.

We almost had a war over posts about the Gomecz (spelling someone) lights (everyone here is normally soooo nice, but not on these posts!)

Did I mention the Saaby thing?

InReTECH is a new company and has some really interesting, cool, different lights.

I was one of the "lucky ones" to purchase a MR BULK 5 watt LS "Space Needle II", simply the brightest LED on the planet!

Did I mention that Saaby hasn't had a date yet?

Everyone got together at Shot Show.

ARC introduced version 3.1 of their AAA

ARC has (no APRIL FOOL JOKE HERE) a Computer controlled and USER COMPUTER MODIFIED ARC LS LIGHT (still in development!)

$1.25 SureFire 123a batteries!

Welcome back, recercare. Regarding the SureFire Beast, if I recall correctly, some mention was made that it will not be coming on the market. Don't know the reason, but perhaps Size15s can enlighten us, or at least point us in the right direction.
