Well I have been lurking for about 2 months now and decided to become a member of the group today. I felt I should let everyone know the extent of the damage you have inflicted upon me. I have gone from a perfectly content, couple of Maglight kinda guy to one which is now not content with any reasonable/average flashlght and must have more more more! Work, home, briefcases, drawers are all receiving new lighting devices (12 in 2 months and I'm afraid to add up the total cost). My 5 year old son yells 'Dada! Is this a new one!?" to which I promptly have to run and squelch the commotion because my wife will without a doubt think I have lost it. I am afraid that it's only going to get worse....
Glad to be here,
Jeff

Welcome Jeff to CPF,
I was in the same boat back in October. Now the dust settle I only opt for CPF modded light either hotwire or Lux. It's not that bad once you achieve critical mass /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Welcome, I know the feeling. One night I'm innocently using my laptop, the next minute, someone might as well of smacked me in the back of the head with a two by four and taken my wallet. At least I'm not in pain and I've got some cool lights to show for it.

That's what we do. Since it happened to us, we have to make sure to pass the pain on to you. Look at me- I had 4 M*gs laying around the house plus a big Eveready that my wife had. In the past 6 weeks or so I have bought at least 12 new REAL lights, not to mention the few that I gave as gifts for Christmas. My wife even noticed the small pile of flashlights laying amid the clutter on my computer desk.

Maybe we need to form a support group...

... for our wives! *WE* don't have a problem! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Welcome to CPF! Fogetaboudit. I heard they're starting a forum down the hall called CPF anonymous. 12 steps to living in the dark. So no worries, you're one of us now /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif mwwhhaaaahhaaaHaHAa mmwhAAHAAH.... [picture Dr evil and his pinky right now]

JimH. Welome to CPF. Bend over and grab your wallet.
That Mag AA listed in your sigline REALLY needs a drop in LUX module.

errr.... ummm... That's JeffH /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif Then again, UncleFester knows that /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

JeffH, welcome to CPF. I feel your pain, I spent about $1,000. on lights in 2004. I had to put a stop to it. So, no new lights in 2005. I will not buy a new light of any kind in 2005. I will however buy accessories for the lights that I do have. (UCL's, battery cases, lithium AA's, 123's, etc.) And I'm putting together a list of 5 must have lights for 2006. Only five then I'm done. Good Luck, with you quest to stop buying lights, you're going to need it. A Flashaholic Forever.

Back in Sept '04, I was just looking for a good camping/hunting flashlight. Needless to say, I stumbled into CPF and thousands of dollars magically disappered from my wallet and the postman is getting sick of knocking on my door with my flashlight deliveries.

Welcome to CPF, and why dontcha stay awhile!
Great to have ya, but your wallet (and maybe your wife) is gonna hate ya!

welcome again,
daloosh

Same story here...
Almost 1 1/2 years ago, stumbled onto QuickBeam's review site re: PM6... first saw CPF.. said "Whoa... i wouldn't go THAT deep..."
Now i'm up to my neck /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif With around 8 "real" flashlights to show for it (and my disposable income pretty disposed already /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif )

Jeff,
Welcome to CPF. Don't feel bad, I spent over 3,000 in 2004 on lights. Since I bought a house now, I have to be good. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleye11.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sssh.gif

I was 'enlightened' by CPF sometime in October 2004. In a matter of 2 months here's what i have acquired.
-2 Longbow Micra (one Black, one OD)
-1 Longbow Mini
-1 Surefire KL1 Head/VG FB1 Body
-3 Infinity Ultra G
-1 Inova X-1
-20 Led Keychain Lights
-2 Sharper Image Lights
-1 Inova X03
-2 Arc AAA

I'm pretty sure i missed out a few lights, i'm not even listing accessories such as holsters batteries charges etc. Like atrue flashaholic, i am always on the lookout for other lights.

BTW... welcome to the insanity /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Welcome Jeff to CPF! Glad you decided to join CPF! My collection of flashlights never seems to end! I think flashlights might be addicting. I'll check with the Surgeon General.
