I was just thinking about how many different preferences people have when it comes to lights. Fenix seems to do a great job at many peoples needs but I can't help but wonder if they would would be better off to go modular. They could sell various parts that you could change out. For example you could switch between smooth or orange peel reflectors or clicky or twisty.

That is a very nice idea. I dont know if they would lose money on it, but I'm betting that must of their customers are CPFrs who allready has some of their lights.
Accessoires like large Turbohead, rearclickies for the twisties, extra 1AA,2AA,CR123-bodies, OP-reflectors(might be hard since were not supposed to open the heads), clips and last but not least, DIFFUSERHEADS, would be great!

Modular is a great idea!

I would love to build a light with parts available "ala carte". I would gladly pay a few extra dollars for a light that I could build to MY specs. Twisty head only, please! CR123 and CR2 bodies would be a plus.

I received an email from Fenix indicating that they will be releasing a 2AA extension tube for the L1D CE. Maybe this is the start :)
