I have the Foursevens Maelstrom MMU-X3, and this is the only 26650 flashlight I have ever owned or used. I've been looking at some of the newer ones on the market. What are some of your favorites? What do you think are the pros and cons of usb-c rechargeable flashlights that use this same battery. Should I be looking at the 21700 flashlights? How do they compare with 26650 flashlights?

Good question. 21700 batteries are said to have as much capacity as the 26650's. Still loving the rare Oveready Defense Light that sports a quad P60 dropin. As soon as FrazLabs releases a 26650 flashlight again, getting that (they also sell a 21700 model if you can find it in stock) but that latest FourSevens 26650 is nice indeed. Curious to hear what others have to say.

The first of 51 real performance flashlights that I bought, and the most recent one are 26650.

In chronological order:

1. Four-Sevens MMU-X3. Oct. 2014, 1,600 lumens, 26650, 3 x XML2.

8. Acebeam EC50vn spec 1. 26650, XHP70. May, 2016; 3100 lumens.

22. 47s MMU-X3vn 3 x XHP50.2, one-off, Dec. 2019, 5,500 lumens.

34. Mateminco MT07 vn 7 x W2. June, 2020. 8,000 lumens.

48. Astrolux (Mateminco) FT02S Dec, 2020. 26650. 4 x XHP50.2 from a single cell. 11,000 lumens.

51. Mateminco MT70 Mini single SFT55.2 26650 Oct. 1, 2021. 6,800 lumens, 1,428 meters.

I prefer to externally charge my cell, but usb-c in light charging is ok with me.

You should look at 21700 lights, because there are additional options.

Convoy L6. It fills the same sort of role as a "house light" that a 3D Maglite would have 20 years ago.

My only 26650 light at the moment is an Emisar D4S. With its aux LEDs on low/steady, it's the dedicated power-outage light for one part of our house.

I love Emisar lights, and this one's no exception. :)

I have the Mateminco TK04 4xXHP50.2, and the MT01 XHP50.2 behind a TIR. I really like them both. In comparison, the MT01, being smaller and lighter is my current fav.

Here's some beamshots:
