what to use to drive to 4 R2 crees

As i have no idea what driver could i use to power 4 cree R2 this is going into the bomb proof host and will be powered by
1, 2 AW cell li-ion
2, 6 enloops in Barbolight AA to D adaptors
can i drive them at 700 mA or is this to much?
any help or info?push in the right direction would be great many thanks DocD

maxflex3 is the best boost driver avalible. 700ma no problem with proper heat sinking.

I suppose you could go direct drive in a 2S2P configuration. You would definitely be better off with a driver IMO. As far as I know they don't come in different formats. Another option would be the Shark from the Sandwich Shoppe.

R2's can take 1amp if properly heatsinked. If you want to go cheap you could get like 3 or 4, 7135 drivers from DX for $2-3 each.
