What would you buy to mod Petzl Tikka XP or Princeton Tec EOS

I'd go for the Eos - it's properly regulated so you'll get much more time with a powerful beam than with the Tikka. I'm actually just about to buy an Eos despite already owning a Tikka XP due to the apparent better performance, though plan to mod both (when factory P4 stars become available).

Then again that could be something to do with the fact that my current status is very accurate (currently I have Petzl Zoom, Micro, Tikka, Tikka+, Tikka XP,, E+lite, BD Ion, AAA Mag, Exposure Joystick, homemade triple XR-E, Siva 10/20W headtorch, Lumicycle bike lights + a few more odds and ends).

I am sure you definitely need a new headlamp

+1 for the EOS and its regulation (and easy mod)

is there a way to add a driver in the tikka xp's body perhaps for regulation? just a curious thought...

The Tikka XP is a very attractive headlight, but the lack of regulation on a light at this price range kept me from buying it. Anyway, if I had one, I'd probably try to stuff a SCC P4 in there. However, I'm atrocious at mods...

they are both great headlamps.... it comes down to if you want a red light option go with the TacTikka XP.... if you don't care about red light.... get the EOS

The XP sounds like it's a very easy mod...see AndreasB's post (post #18 has pics) who just modded one with a Seoul P4. AndreasB makes it look so easy he "made" me want to try this mod (I'm totally new to modding). I have a Seoul P4 star coming from PhotonFanatic. :grin2:

I'd agree with others, the EOS is a great light right out of the box. And it's even better with some easy mods (i.e. reflector, diffuser, etc.)
