I'm looking for the best combination of NiMh cells for use in the e2e body with the KL1.

1. 4ea 1/5A 400mAh?
2. 2ea 2/3A 1100mAh?
3. 3ea mystery size?

I think 3 cells with 3.6V would be good but not sure if there is a size available.

I am using 1 single 168b Li-ion (3.7v/1400ma) on my e2e/KL1. It runs for around 3 hours w/o brightness dropping.

With the availability of the Copias and the flat discharge curve and great charge hold, it's the best option for a rechargeable battery pack for the E2x-KL1...

Most of the available A-sized NiMHs that fit the E2x don't carry enough capacity or are difficult to charge without an adaptor...

Unfortunately, with the price increase, the Copia option isn't as desirable. 2/3A Nimh cells are very cheap and with a little ingenuity you can charge them with a regular charger. Performance won't be near as good, but you'll be paying a very small fraction of the price.

2/3As in a 3 cell application should allow for further cell draining.

Looks like the Copia would cost $60 for the charger and one cell. That would buy 4 dozen surefire CR123s. That puts it out of my price range.

Hummm, I am running my KL1 with 2 NiMH 1800ma's. Works great, nice size. I can't remember who but someone was making an 2 AA and 4 AA bodies, I am using a prototype Surefire body, unfortunately no plans to be made. I wish Surefire would make a 4AA side by side for the KL4, KL5, KL...

Would it be costing more if using 2 NiMH AA w *E3* tube from Dspeck? Not to mention increased size of the light. It's good idea to make a 4 x 123 cells tube w 18.5mm ID to run P91 in 2 li-ion for 30 min:-)

I agree that it wouldn't be justify to get charger and li-ion just for one light. However, once you got a charger, the bat itself isn't out of line for different configuration. Currently, I have li-ion runs on Mini-LGI, E2e/KL1, E2e/BB700 (curtousy from Don), C3, Pila GL4 (M90), GL3 (9T) and GL2 (6T). One charger for 7 lights:-)

Yup, Nerd that is who was making them. I wonder if made a straight 2 AA tube like I have? I really like the size and it's great to use 2AA's with the KL1
