Where can I purchase an Arclight AAA?

After reading numerous reviews and comments about the Arclight AAA, I've decided to try and pruchase one instead of Dorcy's single AAA light. However, it seems as though most online vendors are sold out of the Arclight AAA and it's on backorder for a month or so.

Is this a light I can purchase at walk-in retailers, and if so, which one(s)?

Thanks...

There might be a retail store here or there that has some available, but you don't say where you are. Certainly you won't find it in any nationwide chain stores.

There are often some available on the BST (buy/sell/trade) section here on CPF. You can always ask for one there.

Other than that, you're left with waiting for Arc's production to catch up again with demand.

You can also find them at ebay, but they've been going for $40+. Best bet might be to look here at BST (see above), or just order one from Arc and wait.

best regards

i 'skipped the wait' and ordered a couple peak AAAs yesterday.. they shipped the same day... i'll let you know if i like 'em as much as my arc aaa..

I just two weeks ago bought a used arc aaa on eBay for $21 for a friend for his birthday.. it was used.. but just meant it was 'worn in'.. won't feel bad scratching it with keys it's already scratched.

Does that mean Mr Gransee is not producing anymore Arc AAA? It shouldn't have been that difficult to produce some quantity since we are not weeks but months on backorder. Something is not quite right here.

Don't panic just yet. Arc is producing AAA's; they're catching up on old orders now. (I know 'cuz mine's on the way.)

There were some issues that needed to be resolved with the switch. Other than that, I don't know why the delay has been so long. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif

Pi_is_blue,

What are some of those switch issue? I have no knowledge with them.

Thanks for the welcomes. I'm a knife guy just recently getting into flashlights.

So, the Arc AAA isn't stocked by major chains such as Target or Home Depot? Is the Arc AAA built by hand in a small operation and so isn't shipped to major retailers because of volume?

No, you won't find it in major retailers, you would have a hard time finding it online, just as hard direct from their website due to backordered status. About the easiest way to obtain one currently is through Ebay or here in the Buy/Sell forum.

ARC isn't a big company like all of the major flashlight manufacturers that you usually see. That is why their products are of a higher quality. That is also why they have bigger problems when one of their vendors screws them over like has happened recently. The reason for the backorder is that the vendor that produces the circuit board for them had been selling them faulty boards for quite some time knowing that there had been a problem. Since ARC was one of their smaller customers they got tended to last. So it appears that ARC has now started to get their supply of the boards and is beginning to restock their supplies. I lost my AAA back several months ago and have been waiting to get a new one since then. The reason I've waited is because I know I'll be getting a good quality product that I can depend on. I can't say that about many electronic devices these days. So Jat, I'd recommend that you either wait for them to be restocked or look for one on the Buy/Sell/Trade forum. Either way the investment will be worth it.

If you cannot wait further/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Christo_pull_hair.gif, just PM to 'jcciv'. I just got one from him. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleye11.gif

I'm starting to wonder about the financial viability of ARC. When was the last time anyone received an ARC AAA directly from ARC? If someone has ordered and taken possession of an ARC AAA directly from the company, I'd like to know.

I'm down to my last ARC AAA and have hesitated to order more since I'm not sure I'll get any. I hope all is well with ARC since no other company makes flashlights of such extreme quality.

I just placed an order for AAA-P Monday. There web sight said 5 week backorder....Today is Friday and I just received an email saying it was shipped today!!! I was pleasantly surprised.

I received an email from them this week saying they were ready to ship my backorder and needed my credit card number since their system deletes the card number after 30 days. I told them to cancel because I had just bought 3 from Lumitron a couple of weeks back.

So it sounds like they are starting to ship now.
