NOT the older style with the pocket on the right, the new style with the pocket on the LEFT. I've been looking around and I only see pictures of the old style. Anyone know where I can get the new ones?

For general wear, I love my 5.11 Tactical pants. They are comfortable, durable, and I find them stylish!

About retailers with the new styles, you can call and ask whoever sells them if they have the new style. The new and old styles have the same model number, so there is no way to distinguish them through electronic merchandise tracking. However, all of the nylon pants are the new style. I would try Lightfighter Tactical, since their sales reps can go pull your item while you wait on hold on the phone. I still haven't found any places that have my size (32x34) in the new nylon pants or new style cotton pants. Good luck!

EDIT: I just checked Lightfighter Tactical, and they do show the new style on their website. Having called, I know they have plenty of the old style still in stock with limited sizes of the new style.

FWIW...

I've been wearing these pants since long before they became "cool". I discovered them while at the FBI Academy in Quantico VA during a seminar in 1992.

I bought three pair then, and many more since. I still have one of those original pair. They have been worn & washed literally thousands of times. Their material is still "thicker" than that of two brand-new pair (old style right-pocket) I purchased last week.

These pants used to be made of heavy duty "canvas duck"; these new pairs are slightly more heavy duty than a freaking bed sheet.

I just ordered a pair from United Uniform a couple hours ago. I wonder what I'm going to get. I didn't notice that the small pocket had changed legs.

I've used these at work for the past couple years and love them. They are light years better than the crap that Aramark gives us. I put the knee pads in a couple weeks ago and now I wonder how I lived without them.

The 8.5 oz, 100% cotton canvas is great for cold weather, but Im going to give the 7.4 oz, 100% nylon canvas fabric a try come summer.

You owe it to yourself to look at the Trailhiker Pants at Cabelas . I just got a pair of the Nailhead Trailhikers, and the fleece lined Trailhikers. They are more durable than the 5.11 pants, less expensive, and a very similar design. I have worn out 4 pairs of 5.11 pants in the last year, and the Trailhikers are still going strong. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/happy14.gif Cabelas is a top notch company to do business with.
