where to get a cheap 12V halogen spotlight for HID mod

hey everyone,

im working on my first HID mod :D. i already have the 35W HID set but i still need a ''host''to build the set in. but since all the lights i've seen so far run on 6V batteries, i thought u guys might know where to get a cheap one :P

Welcome to the burgeoning world of HIDs! :D

You don't need a 12v host per-say, a suitably sized 6v host would do providing it can hold 2 6v SLAs you just need to wire them in series to achieve the 12v average input for your ballast/bulb.

Personally... I'd start with a local hardware store (or similar), have you tried Aldi's (they're European based) yet? one of our members (Norm to be precise) sourced his host through them, alternatively try a thrift store, pawn brokers OR any second hand markets etc.

i found one at a european website for 22 euros with enough room for two 6Volts!
