Which diffuser gives the least hot spot?

Hi,

I'm looking into making a LED dive light and I want a nice even (as possible) spread with minimal hot spot, loss of throw isn't a major concern. What is available which might fit the bill?

Welcome to CPF, Splint.

As you are building a special application dive light (for video lighting, maybe?) I'll move this into our Dive Light section where some divers may be able to advise you.

Try a defocused aspheric. You can get a really nice even wide beam.
If you are wanting it for video or photography you could consider not using optics at all. Bare LED's will give a fairly even spread of light over 90 degrees.
