Hello everyone. Thanks for Looking.

I have been doing a LOT of reading in the Aleph section about all the custom heads, Aleph 1, 2 and 3, and the different leds, 3 and 5 watt, and the different resistors.

Now i am CONFUSED as hell.

I read EVERYHTING in "Aleph-FAQ // READ FIRST !!!", then i read everything in "Aleph Compatible Parts // with pics", then "McGizmo: Custom Build Pricing and Ordering"

So please do not give me hell for not reading.

And this is what i am looking for: The BRIGHEST replacement head (containing an LED) for a Surefire 6P.

I plan on running 2 123 batteries. I do NOT plan on switching to anything else, no rechargable, no pila, nothing "special", NOTHING. just TWO "regular" 3 volt 123a batteries.

I know i would like an Aleph 1 head. What I do NOT know is what type of led, either 3 or 5 watt, and what ELSE needs to go in there. I plan on running the "standard" 6p tailcap, if that makes any difference.

I was looking thru some pics and found this:
Aleph1-18650.jpg

Thats what i am looking to do.

So what do i need in terms of #1 a led and #2 what "other things" to go into an Aleph 1 head to be put on a surefire 6p body.... to be BRIGHT.

I would like it to be brighter than a U2 at it HIGHEST setting.

Thank you

Unless I've missed something, the Aleph heads are NOT compatible with the C series of Surefire bodies. The Aleph series of lights and parts are E series compatible.

The above photo is either a hoax or it's a mod of some sort. The only high performance LED solution for the 6P is either one of the 5W heads from Surefire or a modded KL3. If throw is what you want, the modded KL3 is the way to go.

I've done many of those mods and the KL3 can be transformed into a real flame thrower. It will also run on 3X123 if you use a battery extension.

The towel makes me think that's a Don picture which means he probably made a one-off A-1 head. What Tony says is right, of course - this is NOT a standard Aleph part!

For the emitter question, you simply have to answer one question: Do you want more throw or do you want a fatter hot-spot? A Lux5 and Lux3 can be equally "bright." The deciding factor is, "what do you want to do with the brightness?" Use a Lux3 for max throw, use a Lux5 for max "fat" beam.

Yup, it's one of Don's mods (see here ) Guess you'll just have to ask him if he'll sell or make one for you. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey guys,
The head is stock but the battery tube was cut and threaded to receive E series heads. I now have a HA type II black Aleph 3 head on the tube and it is quite nice!

(two stage switch mod too)

EDIT: For the stock 6P, Chop's KL3 mod is a good solution!

correct me if If I'm wrong, I remember seeing 1 or 2 flash across in B/S/T a P-60 replacement made by ARCmania.

It was made out of custom cut PR reflector w/SC, TWOH and sold for aprox. $115. Klaus had some details.

For a mod you can actually have, See Chop for a modded KL3 in your choice of build.

Back when Mut was the exclusive buyer for Chop's custom creations, I got to drool on all the Chop goodies Mut brought by /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I just love saying this... there's no such thing as HA-II. 'Least that's what I'm told by the guys who are supposed to know. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif You either get HA, or you get type II. Can't have both.
