Which Pila\'s ?

Sorry guys, but I've read and read some more and I'm still not sure about this. Assume the following configurations:

A3-DB917 2x123 tube
A3-DB917 2xCR2 tube
A1-NG750 1x123 tube
A2-NG500 1x123 tube

In which of these configurations can I run Pila's and which configurations should I not? Also, which particular Pila cell would I want to run in the configurations that allow it?

Re: Which Pila\'s ?

TIN JS Burley's web page says that the Pilas charge up to 3.7v. So you want to go with the NGs on the 1.5 body with a 150s Pila. The 168s pila is the same, but it takes up the space of 2x123 cells and charges up to the same 3.7v.
I have used the Pila 150s to run a DB, but it doesn't get full brightness if I remember correct.
If you have a 3x123 body you could use 2x150s Pilas that would give you 7.4v which would work with the DBs.
I think I have this straight. Please someone correct me if I am wrong.

Re: Which Pila\'s ?

Ray,

Both the Pila 168S and 150S come off of the charger at 4.2v. I wouldn't run a NexGen on one of these unless it is either biased for more than 700mA OR your emitter is a K Vf or higher. If you have a J Vf luxeon running at less than 700mA, you're taking a risk. I'm not saying that it won't work, but you also might smoke it.
