I have tons of photos that I want to put in digital format...
What do I look for in a scanner to accomplish the best resolution of Photos, Negatives and slides???

Links or personal experiences or hearsay is appreciated

i'd get something with digital ice, so nikon coolscan 4000(35mm and aps).

I am taking medium format pictures as well so I have to get the coolscan 8000(35mm, aps, 120 and 220).

I'm a graphic designer who works in publishing and as a general rule, I prefer HP scanners and printers for most jobs. For the price they put out a decent product and have less reliability problems than other brands (sorry, I've had bad luck with Epsons!) The HP Photosmart is a good choice as a good and economical scanner.
