Since I cannot obtain the Terralux switch without tripling it's cost in postage, I picked up two options today locally. They both seem to be designed for the incan MM, but with a spacer of suitable length, I wonder which would be more suitable in the LED MM. The first is a straight-forward on-off clickie made by RAM Flashlight. All metal, black anodized w/ red clickie. $5.99. The other is the NiteIze IQ Switch. Has anybody used this switch with a 3AA LED MM? It has three power levels plus two strobe, and turns off with one click after being in any mode for more than 2 seconds. The switch cover is clear rubber, with a small LED underneath which flashes "once every few seconds." I am wondering if all these electronic features are compatible with use in the LED MM, especially the 3 AA version, since this switch appears to be designed for use in the 2 AA incan MM. One turn-off mentioned on the package (both literally and figuratively) is the "Auto-Off" feature, which turns the light off after 14.5 minutes (not 14, not 15, but 14.5!) Maybe a plus with an incan MM, but likely a PITA with the LED which already gets good runtimes. Otherwise, if this IQ is suitable with a 3 AA LED MM, it has everything needed to make it a fabulous tent light hanging from the ceiling: clickie on-off, plus multi-level light output. Any thoughts on how the multi-level is achieved? Resistor, or electronic?

The IQ switch is resistored and will cost about 15% of your output with a drop-in and I'd expect results with magled to be the same.

You can get the TerraLUX switch for about 2 x it's price, delivered. :)

The quality is much better than the NiteIze unit. Much more solid feel, very low electrical resistance, reverse clickie. There's lots of discussion about it here if you do a search.
