Are there any white LED packages which have inherently better thermal path or heat spreading performance compared with the rest? It seems like most high power LEDs are flip chip on ceramic substrate now, so it's just a matter of browsing datasheets for thermal resistance/conductivity, or are there any high power LEDs which do things differently?
I was thinking in terms of how some LEDs back in the day had a thermal slug and a non-flipped chip directly attached, or how others used a SiC heatspreader/protection diode and lots of vias to more efficiently send through the ceramic back.
