WHO MAKES THE BEST PRODUCTION FLASHLIGHT

I have issues with questions like this since it usually winds up in a pissing contest between brand fanatics. "Best" is whatever works "best" in your particular application based upon a number of factors. For the SWAT guy, a 10X Dominator may be best, for the appliance repair guy, a $3 plastic Rayovac may be best...
Perhaps the question should be "What production light do you like best and why?"
In my case it is currently the Nuwai Q-III because I can carry it unobtrusively on my belt in it's sheath at work while wearing slacks and a collared shirt.

I love my Surefires however if you factor cost then Pila as well as Streamlight are tops IMO YMMV no problem with me.
Both well made, bright and cost effective. my .02 cents

The "best" flashlight is the one you have with you when needed.
Thus ... try looking for the manufacturer that offers a top-notch light in a category that will fit your needs, and you might be happy with your choice.
"The Best" does not exist, it is all relative.

I can see your point to a degree. But one reason not ask it that way is it's too easy, if a 10X is your's it is. it's worth the price because it does what you need it to do.
So really the question is not that different from your's, just enough to make one have to work a little harder.
Hell it's hard for me, one reason I didn't put my choice in my opening, I couldn't decide if it was one of two light's I love that I have owned only for a couple months max,(ARC LSH-P and SF E2d) or my venerable mag charger, that is 14-15 yr's old, and has only needed one stick and two lamp's. I am really into SF size/brightness, build quality, but, I never had a a major problem with my MC, it's awful unweildly, but turn it to flood and you can see to get your key's in the lock,, turn to spot and you can see dog a quarter mile away! I new the question would be hard, that why i picked! so, I guess not to participate is wrong, i am gonna go with,

A: It MUST be with you when you need it.
Don't matter who made it, how it is powered, is it incandescent or LED etc. It must be on your person.
That said, the best two lights for ME are, ARC AAA (on a Paracord Neck Lanyard whenever I'm out of the house), and a M*glight Minim*g with a Lambda LUXIII drop in pill and a Kroll switch (worn in a m*g holster on my belt on work days - and some evening/weekend as well).
I also got a lot of use and enjoyment from a Streamlight TT2L equipped with a Kroll switch. And have been known to say the Twin Task series are the best "bang for the buck" lights available today!

VDG and I share a dilemma in that we have similar lights that are amongst our favorites. Playboy's fondness for the TT-2L is warranted as that light shares similar qualities found in the Arc LS and E2.
I may have to break down and get the TT-2L for work because now I'm carrying two lights (LSL & E2e) to cover my needs. Although we wish the TT were a bit smaller, it's less than the combined bulk of the two lights I carry.
My favorite is too hard to choose but it's between the Arc and E2e...with the possibility of the Scorpion...or G2 with a Kroll...this is impossible! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mpr.gif

My first post...
One thing I like about the Streamlight Twin Tasks is that they have back-up built in. The little MM Solitaires, I use these frequently and the size to light output works for me.
Both these are affordable (relative) so that was what I find a nice attribute.

Thanks for the clarification, VDG. For camping, I consider the Petzl Zoom or the BD Gemini to be the best. For my nightly outdoor use, I regarded the Mag 4D as best, but the Peli M6 LED (or incan) is taking over.

Playboy pinned the best reason for a top flashlight. The one I carry everywhere is a very beat up MiniMag® running a LuxIII with a BB500. I use it every day. After that it would have to be my Pelican M6 running a LuxIII with a DB900.
