Why did Malkoff stop selling their Quads, and do any exist?

Title. The Surefire M6 is like 750 ACTUAL lumens out the front, cause they're underrated, right? So would that put the Malkoff within 100 lumens of actual output of the M6? Do any Quad Malkoff dropins still exist? What's the beam difference in the M6 and Quad dropin?

Sorry for the question flurry, but I'm looking for a good light-spewing, reasonable sized light. I considered the Terralux dropin, but, nah.. I'd prefer to opt for the extra bit for the M6 with upgraded lamp or the Malkoff with brighter-ness, and with LED longevity.

Err, ok. Anyways, anyone answer the questions, mainly if there are any for sale anywhere?

900 Chinese Lumens, you have to divide by ten...

Dude, how about you quite with the anti-China junk? You bring it up in EVERY thread you come across which has any MIC product. It's not productive or informative whatsoever.

To answer the OP's question, it uses the SSC P7 C bin, which is rated for 740-960 lumens when driven at 2.8A

The Malkoff quads are like his other products. A few come on sale, you have to be on his email distribution list, and buy them within a few hours to get one. Else, keep an eye in the Market Place.

I just ordered one. I also have a couple P7s for a gag mod with a D LiIon when I can get to it. I'll do a Q&D review against a SF M6/MN21 when it gets here.

That'd be a good review. Thanks in advance.

Oh, and, how'd you buy one? It says zero in stock.

Yeah from what I understand with the things Gene has told me, it is quite an endeavor to build one of his Quad Cree dropins. As far as I know he's still selling them, but I think he's been waiting for parts or components recently...oh wait, I think it was the epoxy he uses.

You could aways go for an SSCP7 Maglite. Elektrolumens is selling one for $129.99 here:

As for the MTE one at DX, it's probably not going to hit 900 lumens...I think it'll probably still be pretty bright though and for $45, it's not a bad buy considering the emitter itself sells for around $30.

Man, sounds like you've got an axe to grind with China made products. True that there has been alot of crap that has come out of there recently, but there's no need for constant bashing...people are well aware of that just from watching the news. So yeah like Marduke said, you need to take a chill pill on that one.

As a flashaholic, I own many China made flashlights that range in quality...but I enjoy them for what they are. And if I come across any problems, I try to fix them myself...makes this a great hobby.

So, they should be back in stock within a few weeks/months/whatever?

I considered the Terralux dropin, but, nah..

I have the Terralux... the only complaint I have is that it makes an ugly beam pattern... but its nice and bright and certainly a hell of a lot better than having a stock incandescent 4D mag... I keep mine in the trunk with a red wand attachment for roadside emergencies...

Anyone got a link to what the Malkoff quad beam pattern looks like?

Repost.

So, if he's just missing parts, they should be back in stock in a few weeks/months/whatever?

My terralux beams don't look like that. Mine are round with small bright hot spots and no wavy spill pattern. Did you accidentally melt your reflector somehow?
