On one page I saw 3 L1D CE for sale!!!... what's up???

Are they not up to the mark or beyond your expectations?

Quality issues? or what is it? ... care to tell please...

I sold mine because;
I can't stand the rings. These is the weakest point of the L1D CE ringy beam on a high end chinese light should be unacceptable.
Flashlight modes don't work with 14500
Tint is too warm
Only tailcap is knurled thus operating the flashlight becomes hard when hands are wet oily...
No anti roll bezel.

Quality is good but i wish they had put more effort in the head threads,

Probably the "buy both!" philosophy here - if you buy everything you remotely think you might like, you probably end up with stuff that you eventually decide you don't want...

Quality varies with the Fenix lights, I have a few of the Cree series, L2D, L1D and LOD,
The L2d and the LOD have no rings, the Emitter in the L1D was so off centered that I had to return it for a replacement, the replacement was fine, I adjusted the bezel as to
minimize the affects of the rings now its spot on.

Not true. It comes down to the luck of the draw. My L2D has rings.

I think people are selling them off mostly due to beam quality (rings). Others are selling them because their expectations are too high. The Cree is brighter than previous Luxeons. On paper the lumen output is nearly double given the same power supply, but actual perceived improvement is small. I've compared my L2D against my Surefire U2 and my HDS U60. The L2D is slightly brighter than the U2 (which is brighter than the HDS) and throws slightly farther than the HDS (which throws farther than the U2), but the emphasis is on the word slight. This is an evolutionary light, not a revolutionary one.

Of course, it's much less expensive than either. For the price, the Fenix LxD series is a good value. It'd be even better if they had put a nice orange peel'd reflector in there.

the L1D that I sold was nice... if i didn't have my new hds, i probably would've kept the fenix for edc.

One thing I can't stand about the new fenix lights are the multi-levels that are almost the same. do we really need two stages for 80 and 90 lumens? even the difference between 80 and 40 is marginal, to my eyes.

i loved the old L1P with the two stage resistor mod, because you could get a really low low level and a high level, which was the perfect setup for me. if i had to choose, i'd take an old L1P with a seoul over the new L1D.

also, the hds switch makes the fenix switch feel like a toy.

of course, the hds does cost around 2x as much as the fenix, if you can find one!

You can attempt to pry my Cree-powered P1D-CE from my cold, dead hands. It's going nowhere near the BST forums.

As bizz stand point first they sell out the light with subpar reflector then they will sell the light with the new reflector and milk more money from us. Thats what fenix is doing, of course is evolutionary, all the light needed was a freaking reflector now people will have to buy the light again thus resulting in more biz for fenix. Clearly jetbeam and others took their time and will have more refined flashlights, lesson learned no more fenix flashlights for me.

I think a lot of folks buy a couple...keep the nices one and sell the other. My L1d and L0d have very little in the way of rings.

Yeah maybe they bought both or all 3 of l2d, l1d, l0d and kept the size format they liked the best.

An yeah, the rings are super minimal on my fenix lights. Only noticeable if you put it side by side with another light.

I think people will sell L1D-CEs, and Jetbeam C-LE, and Jetbeam MKII X, because they are not as bright as they hoped they would be. It's difficult to get a lot of light out of a 1.5 volt battery. Of course if you throw a 14500 in there.....

I can only speak for myself, I am VERY happy with the output of my L1D-CE. I was happy with the output of my L2T. And this beats it off only one batt without giving up run time. I call that a big step in performance.
