Wouldn't it also be harder to make a super-bright bulb?? If you had to regulate AND have brightness, I think you'd have super-short runtime, whereas a non-regulated light can vary in output and therefore runtime. .

I agree cost would go up.
But I think most of us don't mind paying more for regulation. I don't like having my incandescents turn orange in only 20 minutes (I'm talking about my standard "1 hour" P60 bulbs). While they are still fairly bright after this, the change in color I find to be unnecessary, and at the least aggravating A nice regulated output 6P that could give consistent light and more importantly consistent color for a TRUE 60 minute flat output runtime would be great, IMO.
I hope that one day Surefire gives us some models incandescent that are regulated.

You'd likely have to pay 1.5x to 2x the price for any "normal" incan SF to be regulated, like the E2e or 6P, the light would grow in size because of the circuitry needed, and you'd probably lose the ability to use HOLA and LOLA bulbs in them. It would be nice to have one or two other regulated incan offerings from SF, but I'd rather not have to pay a lot more for a bigger less flexible light if all SF incans were regulated.

IMO, all worth it. I agree it is best if we have option to choose, but I think a couple more models of SF (incandescent with regulation) would be excellent.
I've never felt restricted of EDC by size. I don't mind carrying larger light if light is more useful than smaller light. The price increase would hurt a bit, but IMO it would still be worth it.
