Will as Surefire P6 body accept an 18650 battery?

Due to your descriptions of the quality and feel of Surefire, I am planning to buy a Surefire 6P and put in a LED P60 module. I would prefer to use an 18650 battery because of the capacity. Is there room for that battery?

No. You can fit a 17mm diameter cell (17670) but to fit a 18650 you'd have to have a machinist bore the body out.

There is no room for a 18 mm battery in a SF 6P. You can bore the internals, since there is enough thickness of the body.
The P60L works on a 3.6 V Li-Ion Cell, but since it falls out of regulation below 4.2 V, it will decrease its brightness since the the moment you turn it on.
In other words, the 6P / P60L / 18650 is not a working combo. The only rechargable solution for the P60L is two protected RCR123 in series, but they contains half of the energy (and thus runtime) of a single 18650.

My plan was to get a LED module that would work well with 3.7 V, but the diameter is a little more cumbersome to fix. I could buy 17670 batteries, but then again, I already have several 18650s. I will have to think about it...:thinking:

The tailcap switch is a bit soft. But you could get a Wolf-Eyes Sniper instead of a Surefire 6P. The Sniper will take either two CR123 cells or one 18650.... without boring out the battery tube.
