Will Aurora AK-P7 run off 13.2v nimh ??

Always looking to upgrade my bike lights and having got a bit of the diy bug I have found a DX P7 that appears to run up to 17v. This is the one http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.23998

My question is: will it run from my current 13.2v, 4500mah nimh battery with just a bit of nifty soldering?

I wouldn't see why not. Biggest problem I see is to make the head somehow waterproof, and attaching the whole thing securely to a bike.

I don't know if you can actually unscrew the head on this light. Else, just cut it from the body

I would probably use it as a helmet light and either cut it down or strip out the insides and build it into a lamp housing that I already have. If you think it will run from my nimh battery I might just by one and give it a go. :thumbsup:
