Will multi-mode drop-ins work in RC-E4?

I'd like to get a P60 host, but don't like tacticool heads like the Romisen RC-M4 as much as the RC-E4. The RC-E4 supposedly has a resistor in the tail switch, although reviews on DX say this may not be consistent? Can it "upgrade" to a 5 mode drop-in if there is a resistored tail? (Quote marks for those who hate SOS and/or strobe!)

Will sku 5588 single mode switch fit in E4 tailcap?

I have three Romisen RC-E4 flashlights. On all of them, I upgraded from the original P4 or Q2 LED to an XM-L T6 LED that was made to fit an Ultrafire WF-501b. Yes, the drop-in bulb fits.

(The reverse isn't true. The bulb that came with the RC-E4 won't fit into an Ultrafire WF-501b flashlight.)

The nice thing about doing this is that the low mode on an RC-E4 with a T6 LED is very energy-efficient. One 3100 mAh Panasonic or Callies Kustoms 18650 battery will usually last over 60 hours on the dim setting, while putting out about 40 lumens, which is enough to be useful at night.

Some Romisen RC-E4 flashlights have narrower tubes that require the thinner Panasonic Industrial 18650 battery. Callies Kustoms won't fit. Redilast is also too wide. You might get an AW into it, but it may be tight. So the thinner Panasonic Industrials are the best to use in them.

But I do have one RC-E4 with a wider tube that will accept a Callies Kustoms, the fattest of the 18650 batteries.
