Well, it definitely has more potential than the "shake to charge" battery concept previously seen here... :thumbsup:
 
Make it a bigger dynamo, 18650 and less than 20 minutes to charge, and it could be usefull... AA size, 20 minutes... wouldn't have much useful charge. But yes, would be better than shake batteries
 
The shaking vs. cranking issue aside: Did it strike anybody odd, that a red light indicates a full battery and a green light a discharged battery?
I can see the logic behind it: As long as it is green, crank the handle.

But, I would not intuitively get that without reading the manual:duh2:
