Wire channels together on charger to increase charge current?

I have an Ultrafire WF-139 charger that has two independent charge channels outputting 450mA. Is it possible to hook them up together in such a way that they can both be used to charge one battery at double the charge current?

Sounds potentially dangerous... would either just get a charger with a higher charging rate or some more cells so you have a spare set (or two) - probably cheaper than a new charger as well?
