Apple NiMH charger

I've seen a few posts about Apple's old A1360 charger that handles 2 AA NiMH batteries. Does anyone know if this charger charges the batteries independently or in electrical parallel? Reason I ask is that is a pretty compact charger and I got my hands on one for no cost. I am wondering if I should use it or stick to my charger that handles them independently.

Well it is very easy to test, insert 1 battery and see if it charges, regardless of the result there will be no damage to neither the battery nor the charger. Try it, let us know how it works out,

I am considering inserting two batteries, maybe in some kind of test holder, at two different states of charge. Then I could monitor voltage and current to see if they are being regulated independently. Trouble is, it may take me a while to get to a project like that....
