FS/FT: McGizmo Sundrop XR-U head with datiLED high CRI Nichia 183/GDuP LE.

:) A photographer's friend. :)

The Light Engine - Nichia light engine purchased directly from datiLED in February 2010.
Immediately became part of my edc rotation. The beam is that useful.
LE described as follows by datiLED:

"Nichia 183/GDuP light engine built in brass can. Nice three level light engine, with a high of 700mA."

A photo of the light engine can be found in the original sales thread:

http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=259858

Posts #10 and #7 in this thread clarify how to power this light engine. Thanks guys.

"This light engine will work with any single 3V primary or 3.7V RCR cell..."

"The GDuP will run on a single primary or a single Li-Ion cell. It will also run on a single LiFePO4 A123 cell. So yes, a single 17670 will power it nicely."

The XR-U head - in excellent condition. No nicks, dings, or scratches. Don't have a photo. For those not familiar with the head - I know there can't be many as I am preaching to the choir - there are many photos of the XR-U head in the McGizmo forum. Also many discussions there of CRI. I recently received the head direct from the McGizmo labs. I prefer the patina of my old Sundrop XR-U head. Will switch the light engine to the new head, so the buyer will get new titanium goodness.

Asking: $275, $270,
$265 - includes priority mail shipping with delivery confirmation

Trade Possibilities - Interested in trading for a Makai head or a complete Makai. Will add cash to bring the trade to fair value. Another possibility would be a 1x123 or 2xAA McClickie Pak - and then the buyer would add cash to bring the trade to fair value. Users are ok so long as they are not beat up and the clicky has not been damaged.

First to post an unconditional "I'll take it!" in this thread gets it pending funds -

and that post takes precedence over all other forms of communication.

Payment: Confirmed PayPal. Cash PayPal: no-fee gift option preferred.
If using CC PayPal please add 3%.
If PayPal funds are not received within 4 hours of sending my PayPal address, I'll assume the buyer has had a change of heart - stuff happens. No hard feelings. The XR-U head and Nichia LE will then will be relisted. If you need more than 4 hours, please let me know right away when requesting my PayPal address and we'll work something out. Communication is critical.

Shipping: Price includes shipping by US Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation.
Insurance is extra. I am not responsible for items once they are shipped.

International Sales: International buyers are welcome. Please note the following.
(1) I fill out the Customs forms accurately, and so I will list this as a sale/commercial transaction, not as a gift. (2) You assume responsibility for any mishaps with Customs or shipping. (3) If we make a deal, we will agree on the manner and cost of shipping, and at the time of sale you will pay all shipping costs in
excess of the CONUS shipping costs that would otherwise be incurred. If I get charged more at the P.O. than we figured, I will ask you to pay the difference. If it's less, I'll PayPal you the difference. Again, all risks of shipping and delivery are with the buyer once the package is mailed.

Thanks for looking.

Re: FS: McGizmo Sundrop XR-U head with datiLED high CRI Nichia 183/GDuP LE

Will this work with a 2X123 Mcclicky body?

I'll have to say NO.

I've only used it with one primary. Looking through my correspondence with datiLED he does refer to its use with a single rechargeable.

Use with 2x123 never came up in our discussions.

=====================================

The description of the board from the shoppe reads as follows:

"The board runs best when used in a single cell application (CR123, RCR123 or 2,3 alkaline batteries).
Do not use this board in any two 123 cell configurations as this will fry the components on the board."

I've got 2 of the 2x123 McClicky bodies that "JUST" fit an AW 17670 Li-ion (with the silver label removed). Ultrafire 17670s don't fit. To remove battery you need to swing body to allow for force to start to remove the battery from the body. Works for me.

Now I understand.

You're suggesting the LE can run on an AW 17670 Li-ion in a 2x123 McClickie Pak.

I personally have not powered the LE in that manner.

Maybe Derek or someone more knowledgeable than I am about batteries than can clarify this.

This light engine will work with any single 3V primary or 3.7V RCR cell. This is an awesome combination with the GDuP and Nichia 183.

How does the Nichia 183 compare with the 083A/083B that Don uses in the stock Sundrop line?

Don't presently have a light engine with a 083A/083B to do a direct comparison.

It's my understanding that the 183 is supposed to be brighter. CRI should be similar.
