Re: laser power

What do they teach kids these days?

Edit: well, I suppose he could be using a translator from a different language, and that's just the way it comes out :)

Re: laser power

I didn't reply - I don't understand either. Guess I'm too old :scowl: . I was going to reply asking to diagram that LONG sentence or is it a paragraph ??
I judge others sometimes by their ability to communicate effectively.

Re: laser power

Update -- I asked my kid to translate -- She provided this as best she could lacking laser knowledge:

"Hi guys --
Like you know, lasers pop balloons if it is made of material dark enough. None of them will burst one if over ~30 feet away.
SO, getting to my point, a cheap 5 mW pointer is just as good as a high power pointer because it can like, you know, put a dot on an object ~3000 feet away.
Don't quote me on this however.
I have owned like several green pointers and they have all been capable of pointing some object at like some distance. OH, my over 40 mW pointers will all pop balloons."

Hope this helps -- Mike

They have a language in the UK that needs to be translated to... english? :huh2:

sorry guys for not being as educated as yourselves, some of us are not that fortunate and sorry for my total lack of knowledge on laser pointers.I made a mistake and withdrawn my silly comments.

I guess it's true - We are two countries divided by a common language.
The sales person I talked to from Opnext is from the UK. We talked about our dialects for almost 20 minutes  . We had a good laugh and I got my diodes !!
