I was recently given and Wolf-eyes defender with a burnt out lamp. The batterys were put in backwards and the driver/led fried. I've been looking around a bit online and most of the drop in replacements are either sold out, or 60 dollars. I keep reading p60 drop ins at lighthoud such as this http://www.lighthound.com/Lumens-Fa...-13-volt-250-Lumens-Lamp-Assembly_p_3330.html are "NOT compatible with Wolf-Eyes® Flashlights" And was wondering why?

I have the old lamp assembly and took out the electronics. could I just rebuild it with new parts? or is the reason p60 dropins wont work with it electrical? I'm assuming it's probibly something to do with the form factor of the lamp assembly so I should be fine to put in an r2 and new driver board right?

I'm sensing that no one is replying because this is a stupid question.

all I'm really looking for is why won't it work with the p60 drop ins?

well..

does the board mesasure 14mm in diameter? that is difficult one....

how about trying the sandwichshoppe? (google it)
what batteries are used? if 18650s only maybe you can fit a Romisen RC-N3 driver...Shinningbeam.com may help you ith some.

other than that and as sar as I know no other P60 dropins will fit and owrk in there...

The wolf eyes drop ins are physically made a bit different...so other P-60 style drop ins don't fit. Fix the led and driver....

Right on, thanks guys.

The driver is 16.23mm, I got one from DX thats 16.7 and hopefully will be able to file it down. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.26111

Also got the R2 dropin to see If i can make that fit, and a q5

I do have a romissen n3, so If need be I can cannibalize that for parts, then put the new once into it.

I'll keep you posted on how this turns.

well if the driver is 16mm+ then no need to sacrifice the romisen..its driver is 14mm

(from the pic I thought it was tha small)
