I must have been out of the loop for some time as I just realized Wolf-Eyes now offers a 168 battery extension as well as the 150 extension. I know the 150 allows for 3 of the 150 size cells to be used and the site says the 168 allows for 3 of the larger 168 cells to be used.

I have searched everywhere and can not find a photo of the M90 using the 168 extension. Can anyone post a photo of the M90 using the 168 extension as compared to the standard version?....or at least give me an idea of just how large the 3 cell set up is for belt carry on duty?

I was just getting ready to buy the M90 kit and now have a few more possibilities to consider. I am trying to decide between the 3-cell 150 set up vs the 3-168 set up. If I am thinking correct the 3-168 set up should roughly be the same length as using 6 standard 123 cells while the 3-150 should be the same length as 4-1/2 123 cells. My math is off at times however any photos should help......On a side note how long has Wolf-Eyes had the 168 extender? It has been a while since I had to shop for a duty light as you can tell.

Thanks for any information on this.

Some pictures for you. I think that the 3x 18650 M90 is a bit too long for daily carry but the 3x 18500 should be ok for this even though the run times are shorter. I dont have the 150 extender because I dont use this size cells.

I have the 168 extender which really adds up to the length of this light though as I always says “size matters not only function” so it’s not to compact, but for 700 Lumens and an hour of run time it’s great.

Here is a 4D Maglite and my Taskforce and the M90

Though it needs the bottom of it’s holster cut out to allow it to fit, so the tail cap can “and has” scraped against stuff:shakehead”.

Here it is on my belt. Since I got back from a plane trip my DSD charger stopped working in my checked on baggage:scowl: so “call me crazy:crazy:” but I have been carrying this light around with me instead of my EDC-P7:sssh:” it’s much larger but mostly unnoticeable:rolleyes: “except sitting", you have to make sure it does not hit wrong on the seat:ohgeez:.

And you could also do something quite silly......get the 168 extender and put it on the Raider and then feed it 2x 18650 plus a CR123 dummy cell.

Or, get the 150 extender and feed it 2x 18650 plus one of those spacers supplied with the WF-139 charger, put tape around the side for insulation.

ok, so not the best solution for you, but I would do it just for fun. :)

I recently ordered an M90 Rattlesnake, and I went with the extender that allows using 3x18500 cells. I already own a couple of 2x18650 lights. 3x18650 is too long. There's no increased output by using three 18650 cells, just increased runtime; at the cost of length.

3x18500 is barely longer than 2x18650. The LF EO-13 D36 13volt lamp should give about 450 lumens out the front (700 emitter lumens). Along with the W.E. H20 holster, you get a powerful light in a relatively compact package.

3x18650 extender is for runtime. Go for the 3x18500 for better portability.

I agree.......and the EO-13 gives a beautiful beam.

I heard somewhere on here that the 18650 battery gives slightly better performance because of less voltage sag “I know Li-ions have little, but the EO-13 does pull 2.2 amps.” What I really want to try it getting 3 of IMR CR123 batteries with a fake cell and running the bulb off those:D, I would but I wan’t to know if the tail charger with this light could safely charge this setup:thinking:. Anybody know?

The pictures say all I need to know and I thank you very much.....I am going with the 3-18500 extension package. I do like the option of swapping between the standard M90 body with 2-168 cells and the extension for 3-150 cells.

I actually believe with the good choices of all 3 of the Lumens Factory 9 volt lamps I will probably order one of each of these as well. The 12 and 13 volt lamps could be kept as spares since the LF 9 volt lamps should put out more than I have now with the standard Raider Lamp.

very nice of you all to post the pics and thanks again for the help.

It's pretty long with the 168 extension, I happen to have one of them in the car too. I've got the short extension and some 150's on a m90 with a m100 head. Another m90 with a p7 head is on my AR. It runs off two 168's as with three there is a lot of PWM flicker. You're welcome to try it all out whenever. I'm off We/Th.

A quick note on the 13v bulbs. Perhaps it is just the batch I have but the glass envelope melts and bulges out real fast.....The bulb doesn't blow - just the envelope gets a large blister. The bulb then lasts a few hours longer. I really wonder if bulb life might limit this light to duty bag instead of carry status. It is definitely a short runtime item due to the bulb/heat. I grab mine when someone gets ghost in the woods or industrial areas/railyards but I always have an LED equiped 9p on the belt for backup.

Thanks for the offer Doug and I will try you some time this week. I am on 3-11 shift and work South 322 sector.

This whole thing started when some of my 150 cells began to show signs of trouble. I thought about ordering several more and decided to upgrade my entire set up. I am actually pretty happy with the Turbo bezel of the Raider and the standard 9 volt lamps do me well enough.

I do have several of the 12 volt lamps however am limited to using them with 3 of the unprotected Li/Ion rechargeable 123 cells. I really got excited when Lumens Factory brought out the higher power 9 volt lamps however was dissapointed to see they would not fit inside the 36mm Raider bezel. I now think the standard M90 bezel would do just fine with the higher power LF lamps and two 168 cells but I hate to give up my Raider as I have bought so many spare lamps and bezels.

For now I am planning to order several more 18500 cells for my current set up and just buy the standard M90 with higher power lamps as a duty bag spare. Can anyone tell me if the M90 bezel will fit on to my Raider body allowing me to use the LF D36 lamps on my current 2-150 cell set up? Seems like I remember talking about this in a very old thread however can not find it under a search of my posts.

If you have the Raider with the 36-size turbohead then yes, the M90 bezel will fit. You unscrew the front part of the Raider bezel, then the longer M90 bezel will screw on to that.

This would give you various options, such as running the powerful LF EO-13 lamp in the much shorter Raider body with 3xIMR16340 cells.

The runtime on that would be short though, so I doubt it would be much use to you. I just mention it as an illustration of the versatility of the WE range.

Well I just could not stand the temptation so I loaded up on several spare 18500 cells (for my Raider) as well as 18650 from Lighthound and I also went ahead and bought the entire M90 Kit from WE.

I also snagged a few of the higher power LF lamps and the M90 also comes with a free 380 Lumen spare lamp as well. I decided to skip on both extensions as I think I will be fine using the standard 2 cell set up on both the Raider and M90.

Thanks for the help and I will let you know my impressions after I use it for a while.....now the horrible wait for the postal lady begins however both Lighthound and WE have always shipped quickly so I cant complain too much.

I think we both just posted at about the same time!

My guess is that you will come round to the idea of getting one or other of the extenders to add to your kit, as they will increase your options and flexibility.

You know me too well as I am sending an e-mail right now to PTS asking if I can include the 150 extender. I did not realize they offered the extender without the lamp for 9 dollars. I have several of the 12v and 13v lamps just laying around that I could put to use.

I have multiples of each extender. The M90 3x18650 setup is all incan. It's a waste if you're going led.

I'm not sure what too long is in this case, but then again, I'm not an LEO. To me, if it can't fit in your pocket anyway, then it doesn't matter so long as it isn't too heavy.

The M90-P7 (LED)head will run off the 3x18650 setup, but it has a noticeable flicker that isn't there when running off 2x18650's. I suspect it'll run for hours on 3x18650's though. It puts out a lot of light....

You made the right choice going with the two cell set up. The extender just gets too long. I know mine used to turn on quite frequently just sitting in the car cause the tailcap switch would hit the seat. It's worth the $9.00 just to play with though.

I think the m90-13v with a softstart and an 1185 in an m100 head would be a nice setup.

I'm North 131 evening shift, c'mon up whenever.

I should have my order later today or the latest Thursday as it was shipped Monday. I just realized something that confuses me about the standard Wolf-Eyes 9volt D36 lamp.....

The website shows both the Raider D36 Turbo head light and the M90 Rattlesnake to have the same 9volt D36 lamp as standard equipment. If I look at the accessory section it also shows the same part number for both lights leading me to believe that the same lamp fits both lights.

Now when I first bought the Raider D36 it was well known that the LF lamps would not fit the D36 Raider however they would fit the M90. How is it that both lights show the same WE lamp as standard equipment but the LF lamps will only fit the M90? It would seem to me that if the same WE lamp will fit both lights then the same size LF lamp would also fit.

Has WE somehow changed the D36 Raider recently to allow the LF lamps to now fit the Raider?

I don't know about the raider but the rattlesnake body DID change at some point. There's more room in the new rattlesnake/m90 pill area than in the old one. The M90-P7 head will not fit on an old m90 rattlesnake body for example.

The LF bulb is significantly larger on the backside of the reflector than the WE bulb. The LF is also finned where the WE bulb is smooth. I reckon this is what causes an issue with the Raider
