Hey again guys and girls :)

dose anyone have any experiens with Wolf Eyes ?
it is the only deasent LED light i can find here in iceland. :)

I was thinking of buying FOX-I (Cree P4) specs
Specifications

  • Brightness:260Lumens with Cree Q5 HO LED lamp
  • Runtime: 80 minutes with regulated out put; 4 hours with unregulated output
  • Weight: 160g(battery excluded)
  • Length: 140mm
  • Housing Diameter: 25.4mm
  • Head Diameter:32mm
  • Reflector: 42 mm diameter x 36 mm deep
  • Focusing:: About 8°~12°

Being an American, I hope you buy an American made light made by Surefire.

You'll find many here on CPF who love their WE lights. I have a couple and I use them all the time. Whether you are interested in LED or incandescent lights, WE has something for each group. Many also appreciate that WE lights are large enough to accommodate "full size" 18mm lithium-ion cells, such as the 18650 or 18500 sizes. I use both sizes in my WE lights.
 
Wolf-Eyes makes great lights. They are very durable, high quality, and best of all, affordable (compared to high-end manufacturers). I think you will enjoy them.

As for the FOX-1, I've never handled it so I don't know if it's good or not.

I have a Fox-1, have a look at some beamshots of a small bunch of LED lights for comparison. It is a solid light with good throw and very nice even beam on the wide setting. It is the second one from left in bottom row.

Does the Wolf Eyes 18650 body style use a Surefire C series compatible tail cap?

What I'm specifically trying to figure out is if the Wolf Eyes body and tailcap are made larger for the 18650's or if they have a thin spot under the tail cap o ring like a bored out Surefire does?

I love my Raider (review in sigline), but if you can get a surefire for free...

Most full size WE lights are designed from the start to accept the WE 150/168 cells (18500/18650) so there is no problem with thin walls as may be the case when other lights are bored out to fit the 18mm cells........Also remember, judging from the many threads here, those that buy SF in most cases try to figure out how to improve them........and those that buy WE simply get on using them and don't see the need to dramatically improve them.
 
I own both SureFire and Wolfeyes flashlights.

The finish and overall build quality of SureFire remains unbeaten. A very solid, balanced feel to them. If you buy a SureFire, you might as well have it until you die. If you can get a Surefire forwarded without shipping costs... I would gladly accept that offer. An L1 Lumamax is, when you're into LED-lights, an excellent choice. I runs for 16 hours on one CR123A on the low setting, which is in 9 out of 10 cases bright enough. Need really a lot of light? Switch over to the HIGH-setting then....

With any Wolf Eyes, you get the benefit of easy Lego-ing and the ability to take 18XXX-cells. Surefire will only accept RCR16340 or 17500 or 17670. I've got an M90 rattlesnake, and this is one of my favorite lights. Because it accepts 18650s, it has a decent runtime, OR can be extremely bright, using one of the extenders and a LF 13V 700 Lumen bulb.

In the handling, this M90 however, seems to have an enormous heavy head. Here the Surefire C3 centurion, my other favorite, excels. It has all the right balance, and just feels perfectly adapted to your hands.

What I would take in your case, depends on the use you're planning. Use it very often? Then you'll want some kind of rechargeable option, here Wolf Eyes rules. Only use a SureFire L1 LumaMax occasionaly? Then the battery will last for months and months and months.... and will still be operational after 10 years (ideally suited for emergency situations!)

So maybe the old "one is none, two is one" goes for this situation as well...
The Wolf eyes light you mentioned seems to be very good (however, find out if it can be powered by an 18650 cell, Wolf Eyes calls it a "168" cell or something like that).
Well, I found out for you already: it CAN be powered by one LRB-168A cell!
That means, lots of fun with only one 18650 battery (my advise is to buy AW cells, they are really good).
And, if you want to find out about why SureFire is "the finest illumination tool in the world" you'll simply have to buy one.... already having the Wolf Eyes Fox, you may be wanting a SureFire incan light. Here, Surefire really rules!!
I can only urge you to buy a C3 Centurion, and just leave the P90 standard lamp in place, it's excellent!
When ordering AW batteries, make sure to add 2X (or 4X) a 17500 in case you buy this light :twothumbs

I am sure, with this choice you get the best of both worlds....

I only own 1 Wolf Eyes model, but it's a good one.

M90 Rattlesnake.

Very versatile, very good quality, very much worth getting. :)
