If NiteCore & 4Sevens got together on a Smart PD in a 18650 size,...would you buy one?

***Also, would you change the UI or emitter in any way?

Definitely yes. Smaller 18650 size.:D

One change. Memory for adjustable setting. It will work as a 3 mode (same as Liteflux LF3XT).
adj.->2C->low->2C->adj.
adj.->C+PH->max->C+PH->adj.
There's no these commands now.

I would seriously consider it if the head were larger.

I like the current UI, and would not want it changed. It is simple to use, and variable brightness is easy to change from high, or low.

Sounds like you need to buy a LF3XT! Please leave the UI of the smart PD lights as they're meant to be. The light is NOT designed to be a 2 level, or a 3 level light, so don't try to make it one. It's a single level light with easy shortcuts to max and min. Simple.

Stick with a nice single die LED so you can get some half decent throw.

This should be a poll. :)

Yes, I'd buy a Smart PD 18650. It's one of my favorite cells.

I got one. And I'm telling you - SmartPD with such memory wouldn't be any more complicated than it is now.

I'd definitely buy one. The UI is fine, however I'd like something warmer like the K2 in my Sgt. Burkett. I cant stand the green tint in my D20 but everything else about the light I love.

I'd buy a 18650 Smart PD only if the following changes are made:

Deeper reflector ala Liteflux. I hate dark halos around my hot spots and now that we know a deeper reflector is the solution I see no excuse not to implement them, especially on a larger 18650 size light.

Better tint options. I'm not a big fan of the WC Q5. For whatever reasons it seems to make colors flat to my eyes. My WC R2 Dereelights have beam which tend more towards violet, but even they do a better job with color rendering. I'd like to see a WH R2 + 5A options for those who want it.

Fix the ramping bug as has been done on the D20. And I'll repeat my plea for a quicker short cut to max then the click hold. A triple click would be fine by me.

Other then those little things I think the smart PD line up is great. I'm just getting to the point where I have too many lights (I'm not trying to be a collector I just want a good lineup that fills all my needs) so any notable flaws are almost enough to make me shy away from new purchases.

That's the main reason I'd want the XP-E: It's smaller size and other attributes should allow for a much smoother beam pattern in a smaller reflector.

I agree with that :D
I'm debating at the moment if I should pull my D10 apart to swap the Q5 for a Q3-5A XP-E :crazy:

I would buy one (or more) in a heartbeat. On many of my posts regarding the Smart PD lights I usually slip in a comment about an 18650 version:whistle:. It would be great if the head length was about the same as the EX10 to keep the overall length down. I am interested in the long runtimes to be had from such a light.:thumbsup:
